Several residents of Waterford believe that entertainer Vybz Kartel will come out of his current situation unscathed after the deejay handed himself over to the police yesterday.
"They are just fighting against the artiste. Him a good boy, dem cannot stop him. A his trial dat, him will survive," a Waterford resident said. "If he had turn himself in earlier then it would work out better for him. Now we can only hope things work for the best, " Marva Munroe said. Operation officer for St Catherine South Division, Deputy Superintendent of Police Clive Blair, confirmed the artiste's surrender. "Yes sir, Kartel turn himself in about 11 today and he was taken into custody along with all those whom we name as 'persons of interest. He will be treated well," DSP Blair said.
Kartel could possibly spend a few weeks in jail, which would see him missing upcoming performances in Portmore, St Ann, Nassau in The Bahamas and Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay.
