BLAME IT ON THE BALL, FIFA RESPONDS "2 BAD"

World Cup Soccer Ball

Many players have likened the Jabulani to a "supermarket ball," saying it is too unpredictable and flies through the air too easily.
"We're not deaf," FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke said Saturday. "FIFA is not unreceptive about what has been said about the
ball."

FIFA acknowledges there might be something wrong with the Jabulani World Cup ball, but won't act on any problems until after the tournament

Goalkeepers have complained about the ball at every recent World Cup, although this time forwards and even coaches have added their laments.

Brazil coach Dunga got into a verbal spat with Valcke over the Jabulani before the tournament, challenging the FIFA executive to come out onto the pitch and attempt controlling it.
Denmark defender Daniel Agger said the ball made some outfielders look like "drunken sailors."

VIVAN BLAKE KILLED HIS BROTHER OVER MONEY? CIB UNU LATE

Police are probing information that former Shower Posse high-ranking member, the late Vivian Blake, instigated the murder of his own brother because of differences over money.

Blake's brother, 50-year-old businessman Paul Anthony Bruce, was shot dead on November 1 last year after gunmen invaded his upscale home in Smokey Vale, St Andrew. Bruce was shot and killed on the spot while his personal chef was shot and injured in the attack.

Upon returning to his homeland on January 29 last year after spending more than eight years behind bars in the United States, the brothers relationship is said to have quickly gone sour following accusations of Bruce mishandling Blake's funds.
While Blake was incarcerated, Bruce was said to have been responsible for the handling of money generated from business entities in which he was involved.

"Hear wah gwaan now mi link, Vivian deh a prison a foreign eno but a him brother use to govern certain tings and did a lock di money fi him ... So after him come back and settle now and start check pon him funds him realise seh things naw add up so it cause a thing between di two a dem," one gang member said.

When contacted, Head of the Criminal Investigation Branch, Assistant Commissioner Les Green, confirmed that the police have heard such arguments and are looking into it.

NO CHAMPION IN ACTION 4 2010

With Christopher 'Dudus' Coke now extradited to the United States and the recent events in west Kingston, it is now apparent that Champions In Action will not be held.

The show, which is held yearly by Coke's Presidential Click, was scheduled for August 15 this year but the event had been cancelled for this year.

"It is definitely off, with the state of emergency and the many other contributory factors. There was too much uncertainty around a lot of things." says a source asossiated w/the event.

Although some planning already started for the event, he said no money was lost, as they were only in the initial planning stages.

DUMB CRIMINALS, WEED N CRACKERS

A man who is accused of attempting to export ganja out of Jamaica by concealing it in bags of crackers had his plan failed when he was arrested by police at the Norman Manley International Airport recently.

James was about to depart for Trinidad when his luggage was searched by police personnel on duty at the airport.
The search of his luggage revealed 18 bags of wholewheat biscuits which appeared to be unsually heavy. Moreover, the court also heard a closer inspection of the contents in the bags, which were later cut open, revealed that ganja was concealed within the biscuits in cylindrical parcels. At the same time, a slight bulge was discovered in James' suitcase which turned out to be a false compartment.

Nonetheless, James' attorney defended her client by asserting to the court that the accused had the suitcase in question for over a year and the 'false compartment' was present.

STATEMENT MADE BY MICHAEL CHRISTOPHER "DUDUS" COKE

STATEMENT BY MICHAEL CHRISTOPHER COKE

I have, today, instructed my Attorneys that I intend to waive my right to an extradition hearing in Jamaica and to proceed directly to the United States under the terms of the Extradition Laws and treaty between Jamaica and the United States of America.

I have taken this decision of my own free will and have done so even though I am of the belief that my case would have been successfully argued in the Courts of Jamaica.

I take this decision for now I believe it to be in the best interest of my family, community of Western Kingston and in particular the people of Tivoli Gardens and above all Jamaica.

Everyone, the whole country, has been adversely affected by the process that has surrounded my extradition and I hope that my action today will go some way towards healing all who have suffered and will be of benefit to the community of Tivoli Gardens.

Above all I am deeply upset and saddened by the unnecessary loss of lives which could have been avoided, be it of members of the Security Forces and over eighty (80) residents of Tivoli or any other innocent Jamaicans that has occurred during this time.

I leave Jamaica and my family in particularly Patsy (his mom) with a heavy heart but fully confident that in due course I will be vindicated and returned to them

Pray for me and God bless Jamaica

R u truly sry 4 the lives lost...hmm U cud hav avoided that by turning ureself in from the get go. U were just delaying the inevitable. I lost family n frenz there, sry u can keep ure apology.

MISSING LINK FOUND "DUDUS" IN CUSTODY!!

'Dudus' in custody
Willing to be extradited
FORMER Tivoli Gardens strongman Christopher 'Dudus' Coke is now being held at Spanish Town Police Station in St Catherine.
The fugitive was handed over to police by Reverend Al Miller and is prepared to commit himself to due process and waive his right to an extradition hearing. A $5 million dollar reward was recently placed for information leading to his arrest

                                  *UPDATE*
It was without much fanfare that Christopher 'Dudus' Coke, the man who had essentially held the country at ransom for days, was taken into a special sitting of the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court, held at Harman Barracks.

Coke was brought before Resident Magistrate Georgianna Fraser yesterday, where his lawyer, George Soutar, declared that the accused, who is wanted by the United States on drug and gun-running charges, had decided to waive his right to an extradition hearing, clearing the way for him to be sent overseas to stand trial.
The accused, who was led into the court free from shackles and was flanked by police officers, nodded at members of the press as he went to take his seat. The dimunitive Coke, was dressed in a loose-fitting blue shirt, which he wore outside a pair of grey jeans.
Asked by RM Fraser if he had indeed decided to waive his right, Coke said, "Yes ma'am." His response was the same when the RM asked if he understood that he had a right to the hearing which would examine the evidence against him.
Coke was then instructed to sign and date the forms declaring his consent to be extradited. As he made his way to a seat provided for him to sign, he again offered glances around the courtroom.
RM Fraser then informed the accused that having consented to be extradited, he would be committed to the Red Fence Adult Correctional Centre at Up Park Camp where he would be kept until his extradition.

His attorneys, however, revealed that the accused would leave the island within a few hours, which proved to be true.
Another of Coke's attorneys, Tom Tavares-Finson, told the court that Coke wished to express gratitude to members of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) and the Jamaica Constabulary Force, "who dealt with him in a professional and fair manner." He also extended thanks to the Director of Public Prosecutions and the court.
Following the proceedings, Coke was led out of the courtroom, again flanked my members of the police force. He was driven away in a van, which was secured by members of the JDF..

Jamaican Musicians Rally To Support Alleged Drug Kingpin ‘Dudus’ Coke

To the U.S. government, Christopher “Dudus” Coke is Jamaica’s Al Capone. But for many Jamaicans, he’s more like Robin Hood-and he’s also a player in the local music business.

http://www.billboard.com/photos/stylus/108614-kartel_mavado_617_409.jpg

After the U.S. government issued an extradition order for Coke on Aug. 25, 2009, over alleged drugs and arms trafficking offenses committed in the United States, a number of reggae artists headed into recording studios to voice their opinions on the man known in Kingston as “the President.” Foremost among them was veteran roots reggae singer Bunny Wailer, whose “Don’t Touch the President” portrays Coke as a benevolent “Robin Hood from the neighborhood.”
“Dudus is a man of peace who makes sure people in his Tivoli Gardens community don’t commit crimes,” says Wailer, a founding member of the Wailers alongside Bob Marley.
Among Kingstonians, stories abound of how Coke has funded children’s education, paid for senior citizens’ medication and reduced crime levels. But that’s in stark contrast with Coke’s image as leader of a gang widely blamed for more than 1,400 murders. Coke is the current leader of Kingston’s notorious Shower Posse, co-founded by his late father, Lester “Lloyd” Coke.
The Jamaican government declared a state of emergency in the capital city May 23 as police fought gun battles with Coke supporters who oppose his extradition to the United States. The subsequent violence has reportedly led to the deaths of more than 70 civilians as police and army units continue their hunt for the alleged drug kingpin.
His music business connections involve his Tivoli-based company, Presidential Click, whose offices have now been converted into a police post by the authorities. It stages two major annual concerts: August’s charity show Champions in Action and the free pre-Christmas extravaganza West Kingston Jamboree. Both events have featured some of the biggest names in reggae and dancehall including Shaggy, Beenie Man, Elephant Man, Queen Ifrica and Tarrus Riley. Their future is now uncertain.
The most recent West Kingston Jamboree, held Dec. 7, 2009, at Tivoli Gardens’ community center, was notable for the public ending of a feud between dancehall superstars Vybz Kartel and Mavado. In front of several thousand cheering fans, the pair embraced and performed songs together. By brokering their appearance, Coke ended a longstanding musical war fought initially through the artists’ ultra-violent song lyrics, before spilling over into intermittent skirmishes between their rival fan bases.
“Getting warring gangs in Jamaica to sign peace treaties is something Dudus did regularly,” Mavado’s manager Julian Jones-Griffith says, “so Mavado and Kartel looked at it like, ‘If he can stop men out there from killing each other, then what is our lyrical feud to squash?’”
Through the years, Coke has been name-checked in several dancehall songs-not surprising, given popular music’s tradition of romanticizing outlaws, from “Stagger Lee” to the Mexican drug lords extolled in modern-day narcocorridos.
Two of the songs that have mentioned Coke were Wayne Marshall’s “It’s Evident,” which revels in “rolling high like the President” and Soltex 3000’s “Killa Walk Prezzi Bounce.” Both were initially issued in 2006 on Greensleeves Records’ “Redbull & Guinness” compilation.
Others have taken a more tongue-in-cheek approach. “Which Dudus,” the title track to the album released in January on Boardhouse Records by Twin of Twins’ (brothers Patrick and Paul Gaynor), asks, “How dem go look for Dudus and dem nah find bin Laden?”
Current circumstances have revived attention for “Which Dudus,” with plays on Jamaican commercial stations including Hitz 92 FM, IRIE FM and ZIP FM. “It’s just social commentary, about the respect he commands from people,” Patrick Gaynor says. “It’s not political.”
Wailer claims he recorded “Don’t Touch the President” as a message for Jamaicans, not for commercial purposes. But the song, which was released digitally in October 2009 through his Solomonic label, is widely available at online stores, including iTunes. No airplay monitoring data exists for Jamaica, but the song has been picking up airplay during the state of emergency on stations like IRIE FM and Roots FM.

876 GRAPEVINE WANTS 2 WISH ALL DADS A HAPPY FATHERS' DAY !!!!!

What Makes a Dad?

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sunsetThe calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so,

He called it ... Dad
