BIZNIZ AS USUAL DOWNTOWN 2DAY

It appears to be business as usually despite the tension hovering over downtown Kingston.

“But nothing not going on today man, everything alright; you don’t see the market full same way,” said a handcart vendor inside the Coronation Market, metres from where residents of Tivoli Gardens mounted a metal blockade on a road leading into the community.

The man, loading pieces of water melon into a female customer’s bag, said customer turn-out was in its 'high eighties'.“You know some people are going to be ’fraid to come out, but everybody know how town run. People just a try get what them want and move,” he continued.

“People who know the place will chance it and come out but not everybody,” she said. “Monday is holiday so you know them (police) not going to come for ‘Dudus’ until ’bout Tuesday, and plus people have to get them food for the holiday,” she added laughingly.
