Dustin Brown has created history by becoming the first Jamaican tennis player to win a match at a Grand Slam event.Brown achieved the feat after knocking off Spain’s Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo in 3 sets - 6-4, 7-6, 7-5 to win his first round encounter in the men singles competition at the U.S. Open at Flushing Meadows in New York. The 26 year old ranked 113th in the world will now go on to meet British 4th seed Andy Murray who beat Lukas Lacko in 3 sets - 6-3,  6-2, 6-2. The result however could be Brown’s lone Grand Slam win in Jamaican colors. This as he is being courted by Great Britain to play on their Davis Cup team.
