EXTORTIONISTS STILL DOWNTOWN N COPS TURN A BLIND EYE


Several vendors, who operate in business district of downtown Kingston have called on police to intensify their efforts to clamp down on suspected extortionists operating in the commercial hub.

“I am still to carryout a review of the crime statistics but until then I cannot say much on the issue, I will however look into the matter,” Deputy Superintendent Horace Creary from Kingston West Police Division said.

“We happy for what the police doing but we need to see them more,” one vendor said.
“This is true but sometime we cannot talk we afraid,” said another vendor, who seemed to be a spokesperson for a small group.
