Heavy gunshots being heard in the Barbican/Grants Pen area and Waterhouse and into this morning


Man and little boy killed in Spanish Town. Both killed on the Spanish Town bypass in the vicinity of the train line.
Safety Advisory: Remember to stay inside and do not leave your house unless it is unavoidable.

  1. Sections of Allman Town under gunfire. New roadblocks being mounted in Downtown... Central Village police station in St. Catherine, was attacked last night. Additionally, sections of the Spanish Town bypass are reported to be blocked. Sections of Spanish Town Jamaica remain tense after 5 persons were shot last night. 3 of those shot were killed including a child.

  4. Unconfirmed but corroborated: Bus carrying passengers was shot up this morning near Southborough. Five persons reported dead thus far.

    Confirmed: Bus was actually shot at in the Naggo Head/Newland area, but residents in Southborough also report hearing gunshots. Conflicting reports on the death toll place the number dead and injured between two and five. One eyewitness told OGNR, "mi see di body dem pon di groun line off. war a get serious now, we need fi get rid a di crime it a reach too far."

    There are reports of a bomb threat at the Montego Freeport Police Station.(confirmed)

    Confirmed: Bus carrying Nurses who were on their way to KPH came under gunfire as it made its way to the hospital.

    PM Bruce Golding said Jamaica will not be accepting assistance from other countries and that the state of emergency will remain in effect for one month.

    Staff members at the #Kingston Public Hospital have indicated that areas of Downtown Kingston are impassable. Additionally, they indicate that no one is being allowed to pass the Gleaner’s Head Office on North Street, by members of the Security Forces.

  28. anon 12:42...panic doesn't cure confusion hun. Positive thinking bring positive results, just hope n pray he is ok. Many ppl having a hard time reaching their frenz n families by phone so try him couple more times n keep the faith. Praying 4 u n all Jamaicans right now...this 2 shall pass
